The Real Funniest TV Shows of All Time

It's hard to imagine any half hour comedy funnier than I Love Lucy, although to me most of the shows are at least slightly shop worn by now and you can almost do a run through in your mind as soon as you identify the program. Many shows that are not as well remembered such as My Little Margie, the Ann Southern Show etc were also very funny. And of course there are shows from the last decade or three or more that are too numerous to mention, but were very successful and many very funny. I think particularly of Bob Newhart's two shows, the Beverly Hillbillies, Petticoat Junction, Green Acres, Mr. Ed, Love on a Rooftop, Phyllis, Leave It To Beaver, Ozzie and Harriat, and so on. But I have a personal nomination for the funniest comedy tv show and that is Rhoda. It would be hard to get a funnier cast together than Valerie Harper, Nancy Walker and Julie Kavner. I think real people identified with their respective plights in life and they made us laugh at ourselves. I think the show was at it's best when the story involved only the main characters....why go out for hamburger when you have steak at home. Funny how a show like that remains unique in tv history. They cannot be repeated or duplicated... and certainly there are't that many people around like the truly unique and outstanding cast of Rhoda.
